Ayurveda (pronounced aye-your-VAY-duh) is more than just a popular form of holistic medicine. It is a system of healing unlike any other, that works to treat the root cause of an imbalance, not the symptoms alone. The name Ayurveda is derived from two words in Sanskrit, “ayuh” meaning “life” or “longevity” and “veda” meaning “science” or “sacred knowledge”. Ayurveda’s definition therefore roughly translates as “the science of longevity” or “the sacred knowledge of life”.
Ayurveda stems from ancient India more than 5,000 years ago, and is the health system from which all others originated - Chinese, Western, and Herbology included. This healing system transcends the physical and combines the medical, emotional, mental, spiritual, and metaphysical, which are all interconnected.
This holistic system teaches you how to live in alignment with nature’s changing cycles and seasons, and is personalized for your individual health needs. Using primarily food, spices, lifestyle practices, natural oils, and gentle cleansing, this preventative system encourages us to catch imbalance before it begins to create disease in the body.

In the initial consultation, we will have a discussion to help me get a clearer picture of your unique body type, health background, current routines, stage of life, and surrounding environment, to assess your needs and identify what will bring you into balance.
I will offer simple diet and lifestyle recommendations in a wellness roadmap to guide you step-by-step towards improving your wellbeing and meeting your goals. You can expect a large emphasis on strengthening your digestion, learning which foods are best for your individual body, when the best times of day to eat are for you, the best forms of exercise for you, and stress relieving techniques you may practice on your own. These practices take time to implement, so I will begin with suggestions I think are the most important to start with.
In our follow-up sessions together we navigate obstacles, reinforce positive practices, and decide if we need to subtract or add in additional practices. I am here to support you every step along the way towards your health goals however big or small.
